The Sunday Review: Marengo Box Spring 2024

With the arrival of spring we have a new Marengo Box and I’m excited to share!

Marengo is a high-end subscription service for the discerning equestrian. What sets this box apart is the ability to customize a certain number of items. The items are clothing, horse care, western and/or english, home goods, etc.

Marengo is a seasonal curation, so there are four boxes each year. Each seasonal box costs $79 and the value always exceeds the cost. In some of my boxes, I’ve more than doubled my value.

For this quarter we were given 2 customized options. For the life of me, I cannot recall what the options were at the time of my selection (it changes as items sell out).

The two items I selected were a pair of medium white Back on Track boots and the grey Back on Track fly bonnet. I’m such a sucker for Back on Track!

With only two items to select I was curious as to what we’d receive for the rest of the box. We are allowed to customize a portion of the box but Carly usually includes some other goodies in addition to the custom options that are uniform throughout the boxes that season. Aren’t you excited to see?! Let’s unbox this thing already!

I immediately found my Back on Track selections upon opening the box. I chose to get the white exercise boots and the grey fly bonnet. If you haven’t heard of Back on Track the company caters to human, horse, and dog with a patented ceramic and mineral blend infused into the fibers of all their products. The technology works to radiate energy back into the body as longwave infrared waves. This helps increase circulation and reduce inflammation.

With the Back on Track Items my only selections I was excited to see what else was inside. I pulled out a beautiful scarf from Espoir. Espoir’s designs are hand-drawn and brought to life with bright colors. It is a US-based company now but got its start in South Africa. I’m not a scarf person but it will make an excellent gift, but Espoir makes shirts, show coats and so much more.

Last year with Marengo’s launch I first learned about Zero Proof Horse Treats. I received the Mint Julep flavor and all of my horses went WILD for it! Over the holidays I purchased all three available flavors in the big buckets. Just this past month Zero Proof has released a new flavor, Carrot Cosmo. I’m thrilled to have received one of the first bags they sold (It wasn’t officially announced when I originally received the box).

Zero Proof is based in Kentucky and uses distillers’ grains to create cocktail-inspired horse treats (without the alcohol).

Dapplebay is a fun company/lifestyle brand that we first heard about during my Cavali Club days. We see a lot of collaborations between Dapplebay and Carly’s projects. My blue “Good Rides Only” sweatshirt came from Dapplebay, and I’ve received stickers, and more. This season I received a beautiful keychain that says DreamChaser. It’s perfect because I really am chasing the dream!

The last item in the spring 2024 Marengo box is the Electric Pony Pony Perfector. This product is made with rose hydrosol and potent plant oils to create a glossy finish for your horse. It also nourishes the hair and moisturizes to help with itchy skin. Nahe gets pretty dandruffy so I already set this aside just for him this year.

If I were to add up the value inside this ONE box that I got for $79 it would come to over $182. It’s amazing the value you get from the Marengo Box. To top it off I use/will use nearly all of the items I get. In fact, some of the products I’ve received in my boxes have become my favorite.

I still use the wallet from a Cavali Club box a long time ago. I still use the sprayer with a soap dispenser, and I wear all the clothes I’ve received. Some items have made great gifts for my friends who would have appreciated the items more than I could have.

What I’m trying to say it we get value but we don’t get junk. The items included in our curations are hand-picked by Carly herself and are usually small business, high quality. This subscription opens my eyes to brands and products I otherwise wouldn’t know about or wouldn’t splurge on (I’m cheap and don’t get myself the nice things).

If you’re wondering whether you should get a Marengo box I say DO IT. I get nothing in return for telling you about Marengo Equestrian, I buy the subscription myself at full price because I whole-heartedly stand by it. There is also an option to just buy one box versus the subscription and you can normally get your first box 10% off. So what are you waiting for?! Treat Yourself to a Marengo Box!
